Another day of cleaning

Today I got rid of even more junk from this house.

This beast was removed from my living room. Hip-Hip Hooray! I have to give a big thanks to M and to S (who lives a few door down) for helping to get it into the truck. It was 150+ pounds.
The corner of the living room now looks like this:
I am hoping that all of this gives me some renewed energy to remove the remaining wallpaper. There are 2 layers, with the bottom layer being about 60 years old.
Anyone have tips for removing wallpaper? I have used some of the chemical stuff from Home Depot, but for some reason it didn't work well. I also tried a steamer, but it doesn't work to well either. I have heard that 409 works well, but I haven't heard any first hand stories of people using it. Or maybe I just thought it would be easy. After removing all the wallpaper that I have so far I never want to put the stuff up. I also have a room that has wallpaper that has been painted over. How would I even begin to remove that stuff?

One final note for the day. This final picture is just a small portion of all the junk that left the basement today. It makes me giddy to see all of the leave.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Let's cross our fingers for more nice weather.
